COME & TRY MEMBERSHIP

Come & Try membership provides an opportunity for people new to Pony Club to experience a rally. A maximum of 2 Come & Try attendances is permitted. This may be at one or two clubs. Each time a new Come & Try membership must be purchased through your JustGo profile.

Below are the steps to begin your journey within pony club.

Step 1 - Create a Profile in JustGo

Pony Club Australia is the national body for pony club. Pony Club Victoria is a member state and uses the national database to process memberships. All people attending pony club require a profile in the national database called JustGo. Parents of riders aged under 17 years, will require a profile but for now just set one up for the rider.

Do not try to Join Mentone Pony Club at this stage.

Step 2 - Join Victoria Direct

Come & Try membership is purchased from the JustGo club called Victoria Direct. Please note, it is not possible to buy a Come & Try Membership from a normal pony club directly, only from Victoria Direct. Use the Select Club search function to find the club called Victoria Direct and join. Choose the List tab (as opposed to Map tab) and it will allow you to tick to select Victoria Direct.

Victoria Direct offers the Come & Try Memberships. A fee of $20 (plus small surcharge fee) will be paid at checkout. This will give the rider membership for one rally which includes public & liability insurance.

The Club you choose to do your rally at will also charge you a rally fee on the day, which for Mentone is $30 – which adds to $50.

If the rider joins the club within 1 month of the rally and upgrades to a riding membership, the $20 Come & Try fee paid is deducted from the fees. (The Mentone portion of the Come & Try fee is not refundable.)

A confirmation email will be sent when you have been successful in buying the Come & Try membership.

Step 3 - Provide the club with confirmation of Come & Try membership

The club will need evidence that you have purchased the Come & Try membership. Forward you confirmation email or screenshot the membership tile found on your JustGo profile. Send this to admin@mentoneponyclub.com.au

The Club will then contact you to collect information about the pony/horse and rider so that you can be placed in the most appropriate group on rally day, to provide information about the day and how it is organised and answer all your questions.

VISITING RIDERS

If you are already a member of a Pony Club, you will already be covered by your Club’s PCA insurance and you do not need to purchase anything from JustGo!.

Mentone’s fee to Visiting Riders to join on rally day is $75.
